Sidewalk Replacement Program
The Village provides an annual sidewalk replacement program that addresses deficient public sidewalk throughout the Village’s street right-of-ways. Designated areas are inspected each year and sidewalk squares that do not meet the Village’s specifications are scheduled for replacement as part of a maintenance contract. Yard Waste Sticker Program
Effective April 1, 2008, the Village requires a yard waste sticker affixed to yard waste bags placed at the curb for collection. Yard waste stickers costs $2.00 each and are sold at Village Hall and Grand Foods.
Stickers can be placed on biodegradable paper yard waste bags, garbage cans no larger than 44-gallons or on bundles of branches and brush. Yard waste will continue to be collected on Wednesdays between April 1 and December 15.

Annual Spring Clean-up
The Village will again offer the popular Spring Clean Up days in early May to provide an opportunity for residents to dispose of items that are generally not picked up as part of the normal garbage collection service. At no cost to the resident, the Village will pick up appliances, carpeting and other large items usually requiring a special pick-up. Please note that building materials and household hazardous waste including gasoline, paint and other flammable liquids will not be accepted. The dates for this year’s Spring Clean-Up are:
If your primary pick-up day is on Monday or Thursday - Spring Clean-up will be on Wednesday, May 7
If your primary pick-up day is on Tuesday or Friday - Spring Clean-up will be on Wednesday, May 14
Do not place spring cleanup materials out at the curb until the night before your scheduled collection day.

Dundee Road Improvement
Work will soon be underway on the Dundee Road Resurfacing Improvements between Skokie Blvd and Forest Way Drive. The scope of improvements includes milling and resurfacing the roadway, construction of two landscaped medians and the complete modernization of the traffic signal system at the Dundee/Forest Way intersection. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times during construction but drivers should expect some minor delays during work hours. This IDOT improvement is expected to be completed by mid-summer.
Edens Expressway Construction to Continue in April
The next phase of construction on the Edens Expressway will continue this spring on or about April 4, 2008, weather permitting.

44th Annual Glencoe Art Fair - July 4th
The Village will again sponsor the Glencoe Art Fair, as part of the July 4 festivities. The Art Fair will feature local artists, both adult and children. To participate in the Art Fair, it is necessary to submit an application to reserve a tent or table space on Wyman Green. The application process includes submission of examples of the art medium that will be displayed.
